Both artists graduated from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). Heyi Ma'mun starts her painting career since she entered university and she never quit till now. Her works are easily recognized; 'abstract' style, 'natures' theme and 'bright' colors are dominating while white color never omitted. Her works never made a big change in its character, but it's getting deeper every step she made. Iriantine Karnaya has always been serious in her career producing wood based and metal sculpture. Her works are easy recognizable; 'realistic' style, her theme is 'figure object' and utilizing 'natural color' of the media. Her existence in the world of art is undeniable, recently she works her self toward the field of mankind. In this case we can appreciate their serious attitude and their consistency on their path.

The question today is, how many Art Graduate female in Indonesia for the last 30 years choosing a career as an artist, the sum might be very small. Yet in that small number we have Heyi Ma'mun and Iriantine Karnaya. As a painter, the existence of Heyi Ma'mun is undeniable. For the last two decades, painting has been very popular for the artist and appreciators. But the present modern art, abstract is known hard to understood, it's different from the contemporary sculpture done by Iriantine Karnaya. Contemporary sculpture has never been popular for the artist and appreciator. The objective of this exhibition is inviting people to appreciate abstract painting and contemporary sculpture.

Basically the works of the two artists have their own character, not just the difference in the media but the way they're expressing themselves. Even though they start from the same starting line: the experience of absorbing every phenomena of the nature. Heyi in responses the nature as strokes and the shaping up tights in her unique way of interpreting it. She reflect it back-story of nature as structural composition in an esthetical way with various imagination in movement and musical nuance to create a new essence. While Iriantine choose the object of nature to be represented in an essence and esthetic language. Some of her works show more consideration to abstracting and distortion rather than the realistic here, this causes the shape does no longer refer back its figures or giving a verbal sense.
